The amazing team at Sistema® approached us to offer 50 cake storage containers to our volunteers. We ran a competition asking for photos of the bake you’re proudest of, and were blown away by the quality and number of entries!
Here’s one lovely entry from Maria in Blenheim:
This was for Women's Refuge, my last bake before Christmas.
My son (9 at the time) often helps me decide what to bake, and this time he thought we needed to do something fun so we could make more than enough for our wahine and tamariki that needed that little bit of aroha over the holiday period.
I think that's why this is my proudest bake. He is truly the best part of me, and to see him consider others, especially our wahine impacted by violence, made me pause and realise that if one small boy can have this level of care and compassion, then maybe one small sweet treat can actually make a difference in one person's day.
