Last week, our Bay of Islands chapter was hosted by Te Puna Waiora for their first social bake. 

The volunteers had a great time in their beautiful clubhouse baking and decorating Matariki whetu | star cookies, joined by two Arvida residents (with a few others popping by to check out the action!).

The gorgeous cookies were then donated to recipient organisations Ngātia Rēhia, Hospice, Bald Angels and Riding for the Disabled.

Our hugest thanks to Arvida for providing not only the facilities but also all the ingredients!

Activities like this are a reminder of why GBB is so important. Not only was it a great opportunity for our volunteers to connect and learn some new skills, the boxes donated provided moments of kindness, care and connection for people going through the toughest times.
